The initial idea was quite straightforward: FilmVerse, a film emulation plugin designed to mimic the finest characteristics of Kodak’s Vision3 series of film stocks—one of Hollywood’s most commonly used film stocks.
But we knew that we weren’t here to develop just another film plugin in a sea of film looks. Everyone wants to mimic film.
In our pursuit to mimic film as closely as possible, we ended up developing a concrete pipeline that allows for the layering of different aspects of modern creative look building for feature films. Our goal for this pipeline was to enable non-destructive adjustments, providing the ability to craft complex and nuanced looks—all while challenging the native controls and underlying mathematics of Davinci Resolve.
