Note:
After installation, run the patch.sh script in the _crack directory:
- Launch the Terminal program
- Go to the _crack directory using the cd command. The easiest way to do this is to start typing cd and a space, then drag the _crack directory into the Terminal window. After the cd command and a space, the full path to the _crack folder should appear.
Example:
cd /Users/johnDoe/Downloads/DaVinci Resolve Studio 20.0b1/_crack - Enter or copy the command
sudo bash ./patch.sh
and press Enter. - When prompted for a password (the Password: line and the key symbol), enter the password of the current user with whom you are logged in.
- If the script runs successfully, you will see the message “All files patched successfully” in the last line of the output.
- The application is ready for use.
After updating to a new beta version (for example, from beta 19 to version 20, etc.), you must re-run the patch.sh script according to the instructions!
Possible errors and solutions
The minimum OS version required to run Resolve 20 is MacOS 14 (Sonoma). Make sure you have it, otherwise even if the patch works successfully, there may be problems with launching and running the program.
A possible way to fix the error on older versions of mac OS (<14) is to install the grep command from Homebrew
- Install Homebrew following the instructions on the official website brew.sh/ru
- Install Gnu Grep with the command
brew install grep - Re-run the patch.sh script as instructed, it should complete correctly.
Use alongside previous versions of Resolve
Installation is always done to the ‘ /Applications/DaVinci Resolve ‘ directory.
If you want to keep the previous version of Resolve, you need to rename the ‘ /Applications/DaVinci Resolve ‘ directory before installing the new version (For example, in DaVinci Resolve 19/20 ).
The project version will be updated when you open the project in the new version of Resolve, it is recommended to make a backup copy of the project before opening it in the new version.
